DTP strengthens team with senior consultant appointments

We are delighted to announce that DTP has appointed two new senior consultants to its Finance Team.

Muhammad Akhtar is a treasury management and financial planning specialist and Stewart Hulme, a chartered accountant with extensive experience in social housing audit and compliance.

Muhammad Akhtar has more than 12 years’ social housing sector experience including senior roles at Southern Housing, Golding Homes, Optivo and Watford Community Housing.

A specialist in major treasury integration projects, he managed a £4bn portfolio at Southern Housing and has advised executive teams on the development of long-term financial plans.

Muhammad’s expertise includes BRIXX modelling, liquidity management, cashflow forecasting, financial covenants, financial modelling, process improvements and managing large debt portfolios.

He is a previous recipient of Treasury Team of the Year award and was named among the Top 30 Under 30 Housing Professionals by 24 Housing Magazine.

Stewart Hulme has more than 15 years’ experience in external audit, most recently as senior manager within BDO’s social housing audit team.

His technical expertise covers FRS 102 and the Housing SORP, defined benefit pension schemes, going concern assessments, building safety, PFIs and loan covenant compliance.

Stewart has led large external audits, driven business development and recruitment initiatives and mentored teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. His cross-sector experience and deep understanding of social housing finance will add significant value to DTP’s client offer.
