Maryhill Housing – Strategic Review

Maryhill Housing Association is a leading housing provider in north-west Glasgow.

Objective

The association asked DTP to support its strategic review, aiming to explore options to strengthen its future position. This work was driven by a range of current and anticipated challenges affecting both the association and the wider housing sector.

What we did

We undertook desk-based analysis of material provided by the association and gathered additional information for later stages of the review. We also held structured interviews with key individuals.

We facilitated a Board discussion where we shared our initial findings and sought views on a number of related issues. The Board explored Maryhill’s operating environment, regulatory and compliance challenges, and projected financial and organisational capacity. We presented our analysis, offered our view of Maryhill’s position as an independent association, and invited discussion.

The session examined strategic options for the association, considering the implications of each. We provided our perspective while encouraging Board members to share theirs. We concluded the review with a draft report and a final discussion with the Board and Leadership Team

DTP carried out a strategic review for us, considering our new five year corporate plan objectives and the 30 year financials supporting it. The review process was excellent from start to finish, DTP were professional, thorough, insightful and a pleasure to work with. The Board workshops and final report provided clear recommendations and assisted Board in its assurance process that the Association’s plans were robust and appropriate.
